Kayla Fried, MPH, RDN

Kayla earned her bachelor’s degree at North Carolina State University in Applied Nutrition and received her Master of Public Health in Dietetics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She worked in the clinical setting at Duke Raleigh Hospital and spent time in the private practice world working at a Functional Nutrition clinic that specialized in women’s health, PCOS, thyroid, and blood sugar management before joining Essential Nutrition.

Kayla specializes in women’s health including PCOS, blood sugar management, and disordered eating. She utilizes a non-diet approach to ensure her clients are addressing their health concerns through nourishment rather than restriction. She provides nutrition counseling to address fatigue, irregular or painful periods, nutritional deficiencies, sleep issues, and more, and to promote better overall health and wellbeing. She believes medicine and nutrition can be synergistic and communicates well with other providers to ensure holistic care.

In her free time, Kayla loves to spend time with friends and family, crochet or draw, and be outside. She also loves to play with her cat, Mochi. She would love to work with you!

Her areas of specialty are:
